About Us

Our Story

I always loved plants my whole life, my childhood home was filled with different plants, both edible and ornamental. I have always been fascinated with plants but never thought about succulents until I saw one walking on my way to work then I started to read up on them. Then I decided to grow some for Christmas as presents for my co-workers after learning how versatile succulents can be. It opened my horizon about succulents and its different varieties. That was 2015. It took me 2 years to gather from friends, pick up from roadsides, buying from garden centres and learning about growing and propagating.  In January 2017, I presented proposition of supplying my succulents for a friend’s wedding, and it started the ball rolling. Sweet As Succulents was established, in 2017.

I have always loved weddings and what it represents. It took me almost a year to decide on my own wedding favours and I would have wanted succulents for mine if I can turn back time. We always give out and receive favours that collect dust in shelves, never to be used then donated to an op-shop after some years. This then sparked an idea in me, to develop our products into making wholesome, eco-friendly, useful wedding / baptism / event favours that lives forever. After all, succulents can live for decades with good care, practically, a gift that can last a lifetime.
